Zero-Based Budget Calculator

Put in what comes in, what goes out, and what you want your money to do this month. The goal is simple: get your leftover money as close to zero as possible without pretending life is cheaper than it is.

Build your monthly budget

Use rough numbers if you need to. A real estimate beats a perfect budget you never finish.

Money coming in

Use take-home pay, not your salary before tax.

Fixed bills

The annoying stuff that usually shows up every month.

Flexible spending

This is where the month usually gets messy.

Savings and goals

Saving is not leftover money. It gets a job too.

What does zero-based budgeting mean?

A zero-based budget means your income minus spending, bills, savings, and goals equals zero. It does not mean you spend every dollar. It means every dollar has a job before the month starts.

If this calculator says you still have money left, that is not a failure. It just means you still need to decide where that money should go. If it says you are over budget, the plan needs a small reality check before the month begins.
